This is a team-based classroom activity using Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL). Teams of 3-4 students work together to learn about HTML documents and links. Part 1 of the activity focuses on markup in general, HTML markup in particular, and related issues.
The attached file is the student's version of the activity. Please contact the author for the teacher's version with solutions and additional information.
For more information on effectively implementing POGIL, check out Clif and Helen Hu's POGIL "Teaching Paper" in this collection and visit the CS- POGIL project site (http://cspogil.org/tiki-index.php). For general information on POGIL, see The POGIL Project (https://pogil.org/) Also consider attending a 1/2-day or 1-day POGIL workshop or a 3-day POGIL Summer Regional Workshop to learn more about how to effectively facilitate a POGIL classroom and develop effective POGIL activities.
This Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) activity is a type of Collaborative Learning. It builds Student-Faculty interaction since the instructor observes and interacts with the teams as they work.
